Lino Battilana

Lino is head of Student Services at St. John Henry Newman. He has also worked at Bishop Ryan, Cathedral and St. Mary. He has been a department head since 2005, a position which lends itself to working closely with school administrators. He has been Involved in the staffing of schools and sits on the In-School Staffing Committee. He is very familiar with what’s involved in the creation of job postings having worked with five different principals.

Lino currently is the staff representative at SJHN, and he is a member of the Long Term Service Plan Committee. He has been involved on the Collective Bargaining Committee as a staff representative and strike captain, and he has represented the HSU as an AGM delegate.

Lino is heavily involved in extra-curricular activities.

Tracy Trofimencoff

Tracy is a married teacher, a mother to two children and three rescue dogs. She enjoys reading and discussing books, the three tiers of Canadian politics, Star Trek and other nerd related activities. You can find her advocating for literacy, health care, women’s rights and education on Twitter (@Tracy_Reads). As a person of faith, she is an active participant in her parish and community events.

Tracy is currently the teacher-librarian at St. Mary, and she has taught at St. Jean de Brebeuf, Bishop Tonnos, The SOAR/PASS Program (suspension/expulsion), Cathedral.

Tracy has served as staff representative, CBC representative, AGM delegate, Recording Officer and Counselor.

Tiffany Shields

Tiffany has been a teacher at St. Thomas More since 2001. She is currently working in Guidance and has taught English, careers and family studies.

Tiffany has served on the HSU Executive as a staff representative and the Political Action/Communications Officer and on many unit committees (Long Term Service Plan or “Gift Fund”, By-Laws, Trust Fund). She has been a delegate to AGM and many OECTA conferences including the FemPower: Women in Leadership Conference. Tiffany has developed the HSU’s relationship with the Hamilton and District Labour Council, and she was the HSU representative to Regional Collaborative Professionalism Board Team.
